Product and Specification

GAJ Technology's wireline and cable simulators, reproduce the characteristics of each pairs of CATx or xDSL wires, of various lengths, including insertion loss, return loss and impedance, based on international standards such as ANSI/TIA-568 (Commercial Building Telecommunications Cabling Standards) and ISO/IEC 11801 (Generic cabling for customer premises).

These are the perfect tools for quickly and inexpensively testing modems, DSLAMs, network cards or any device that uses CATx or xDSL cable and can provide proof of compliance for telecommunication equipment.

Our small "match box sized" simulators can be quickly daisy chained to simulate incremental lengths of CATx twisted pair cable.

GAJ Technology's ruggedly designed simulators are warranted against defects in workmanship. Warranty Details

16 Wireline xDSL Rack Mount

Single Pair & Bounded Pair xDSL with RJ‑45

GAJ Technology's wireline simulator reproduce the characteristics of one pairs (2‑wire) or two pairs (4‑wire) of 26 AWG cable. The RJ‑45 jacks at each ends can be used with either RJ‑11 or RJ‑45 plugs. The 2 or 4 wires simulator are connected as shown in the figure at the left.

GAJ Technology's wireline simulators supports any communication protocol, such as the VDSL Standard ITU G.993.1, which offers speeds of up to 52 Mbit/s downstream and 16 Mbit/s upstream, over a single flat untwisted or twisted pair of copper wires using the frequency band from 25 kHz to 12 MHz. The wireline simulator complies with ETSI/STC TM6(97)02, 970p02r3 cable reference models for simulating metallic access networks.

Available as individual modules or 16 wirelines rack mount case, in lenght of 2000ft of 3000ft, please contact us for other gauges and lengths.

See below for the response curves.

A Y-Cable is also available to connect the RJ-45 connector of the module to two devices using RJ-11, for other configuarion please contact us.

Electrical Specifications

Click on any of the Graphs to get a larger View. The graphs assume a source impedance of 100 ohms. Connecting a device with a different impedance will affect the curve, as is the case with actual cable.

Insertion Loss

The insertion loss, also called attenuation, is the amount of signal loss by the insertion of the cable between the signal's source and the device under test. Doubling the length results in about twice the insertion loss.

Return Loss

The return loss is the signal returned by the cable due to the impedance mismatch between the cable and the ideal 100 ohm impedance, which interferes with the desired signal from the remote end. This characteristic of real cable is simulated by GAJ Technology's simulators.

Impedance

The simulation includes both the real and imaginary part of the impedance.
